Adding SMTP Details

Contact Forms

If your site has a contact form, the results of the form are stored in the CMS and also a copy of the email is sent to you. Mail is not always reliable and can either end up in your junk folder or for some unknown reason disappear.

In order to send emails from your website to your visitors or yourself we need to configure the 'SMTP' settings in the CMS to reliably transport the email from the website to email clients. SMTP allows your email your email to be authenticated so the recipients mail client or your mail client doesn't reject is as spam.

In order to do this you will need to either provide SMTP details from your email service provider or sign up to a 3rd party service.

If you are providing your own SMTP details, please provide the following details: SMTP Host Username Password Port - please ensure that you provide an alternative port to 25 which is the default

If you would like to use a 3rd part service, we suggest using Mailjet.com which is a free for those sending up to 200 emails per day. Thereafter the costs are quite reasonable. If you decide to use Mailjet, please email your username and password to [email protected] or email your Account handler directly.

Note : 3rd party services are merely recommendations. We cannot guarantee their reliability so please ensure you are happy with the company and service they are providing.
